Hello,

in ancient greek Jonathan (oldest son of King Saul) is spelled with a "I" as mentioned in subject (for example see http://users.sch.gr/aiasgr/Biblos/Proswpa_Palaias_Diathikhs_1/Iwnathan.htm  ).

How do native greek pronounce this name? As a "J", (because following letter is a vokal) or as a "I", like in Ioannis (if its not shorten).

ευχαριστώ πολύ,

Vasilios

Hello

The correct pronunciation is with "I", like Ioannis.
