Hi Caetano!

The prefix "παρά" has many meanings. The most common ones are the following:

1. It usually indicates exaggeration and it could be translated as "over".

Examples: παραφορτώνω = I overload

                 παρακοιμάμαι = I oversleep

2. It indicates that something is done in front of the others:

                  παραδέχομαι = admit

3. It shows opposition:

                  παραβαίνω = disobey

4. It shows that something is done incorrectly

                παρακούω = mishear

 

"παραμιλάω" means "I talk in my sleep" , I mutter
