About:	Currently age 83 and married for 61 years and have always had an interest in Greek people and language. Lived in Cyprus for 3 years after retiring but love the Greek Islands. Started to teach myself Greek from books and online a few years ago learning verbs from '201 Greek Verbs' and can now read and write Greek at Intermediate level - but understanding spoken Greek is a problem as I have few Greeks living near me! Visit the Islands on holidays at least three times a year and try to speak Greek everywhere. They understand me reasonably well I think! I was chrismated into the Greek Orthodox Church 11years ago in the UK and took as my Greek name 'Ιάκοβος' which means 'Brother of Christ' -my second christian name being James.
