How can we say "Thank you for being my friend" and "I hope we will be a lifetime friend" in the Greek language?

The most natural way to say these phrases in Greek is:

"Ευχαριστώ που είσαι φίλος μου" and "Ελπίζω να είμαστε φίλοι για μια ζωή."
The word "φίλος" refers to a male friend. So, this translation is correct, if both persons are men, or if the person who speaks is a woman and the other person (φίλος) is a man.

If the person who speaks is a man and the friend is a woman,  then you will say "φίλη" instead of "φίλος". (φίλη = female friend). So, in this case you will say:

"Ευχαριστώ που είσαι φίλη μου" και "Ελπίζω να είμαστε φίλοι για μια ζωή." (The plural φίλοι = "friends" grammatically is male, but we also use it when we refer to male and female friends.

If both persons are women, then you will say:

"Ευχαριστώ που είσαι φίλη μου" and "Ελπίζω να είμαστε φίλες για μια ζωή." (The plural form φίλες = "friends" is female and it refers only to female friends.)
