Ποιο” in Greek means “which” .

Examples:

Ποιο θέλεις, το άσπρο ή το μαύρο; = Which one do you want, the white or the blue?

Δεν ξέρω ποιο είναι το σωστό. = I don't know which is the correct.

Sometimes “ποιο” is used as “what”, however not very often.

Example:

Ποιο είναι το όνομά σου; = What is your name?

The most common translation for “what” is “τι” and not “ποιο”.

Examples:

What do you mean? = Τι εννοείς;

What is this? = Τι είναι αυτό;

Hi

What is the difference between ποιο and πιο?  Do you pronounce them differently?  Do we ever use intonation?

ποιο = which
πιο = more

Examples:
Ποιο τραγούδι σου αρέσει; = Which song do you like?
Αυτό είναι πιο ακριβό. = This is more expensive.

The pronunciation of both words is exactly the same. We do not use intonation mark, because they are both pronounced as one syllable words.
