Άντε
1. it's synonyme with the imperative form of the verb "πηγαίνω" (= to go), "πήγαινε" (=go/leave).
For example: "Άντε στο καλό άνθρωπε μου!" (= Man, go/ leave from here)
" Άντε καλύτερα, είναι αργά!" (= It's better for you to go! It's late.)
2. We use it to urge someone to do something quickly.
For example:
"Άντε παιδιά, τελειώνετε το φαγητό, αργήσαμε!" (= guys, finish your meal, we are late!)
"Άντε Γιώργο, τελείωνε με το βάψιμο" (= George, hurry up and finish with the painting!)
Άιντε is a variation of άντε: "Άιντε Γιώργο, τελείωνε με το βάψιμο"
Additionally άιντε is used to express surprise or irony, when referring to something that cannot be true. In this case we put emphasis and stretch the last syllable: aideee!
Άντε, Άιντε, Αιντέεε.
For example: "Είδε τον Άγιο Βασίλη χθες! άιντε!" = He saw Santa Claus yesterday! aideee!
"Λέει ότι θα τα ταξιδέψει στο φεγγάρι, άιντε! τρελάθηκε αυτός..." He says he will travel to the moon, aideee! he's gone crazy..."
