Meaning: Constantine the Great had to face Maxentius outside Rome in 312 AD. He had a vision of God helping him by forming a Cross in the sky with the inscription «ἐν τούτῳ νίκα» (which literally means : "win with this"). Constantine accepted this phrase and sign as a “weapon” to defeat his opponents. More specifically, that he has to embrace and spread the Christian Orthodox religion.
