Or term, perhaps? What do people of Greek Orthodox faith call the Sacrament of Penance?

Would the biblical term - metanoia - commonly translated as repentance, be an equivalent, or is there a unique word or phrase?

I've stumble on επανορθώνω (which one website says translates to "do penance")

and

εκκλησιαστική which seems to mean "ecclesiastical penalty"

I am not an expert in theological/ecclesiastical terms, but I think you are referring to the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacrament_of_Penance ).

We call this “εξομολόγηση” (Confession).

You probably stumbled uppon μετάνοια and επανορθώνω (rectify), because when somebody is truthfull during εξομολόγηση, he regrets (μετανοεί) and then tries to rectify (επανορθώνω) his bad deeds.

"εκκλησιαστική" means "ecclesiastical".
